Perfect Engagement RingsWhat girl doesn't dream of perfect diamond engagement rings? For me, an image of the infamous and stunning 6-carat pink diamond engagement ring given to J.Lo by Ben Affleck comes to mind. But we are not all so lucky (ignoring for a minute that the wedding never took place) to be dating movie stars with gargantuan bank accounts. The Infamous Pink Engagement RingAfter weeks of speculation, J.Lo first announced their engagement in an interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC's Primetime. At first, the singer/actress/dancer seemed reluctant to confirm the rumours of engagement rings and commitment, but after making a call to Affleck during a break in the programme they decided to declare their engagement. Showing off her gorgeous pink diamond engagement ring, J.Lo described the proposal by Ben as "traditional, but also in a very spectacular way, as of course, Ben would do it." She also said "It was very, very beautiful". The couple met on the set of their film Gigli and was to be the first marriage for Affleck (then 30 years old) and third for Lopez (then 32). The relationship was highly publicised with the media dubbing the couple "Bennifer". Although Lopez assured interviewers that Affleck was "the one" and that they planned to soon start a family, it wasn't to be. Their wedding, set in September 2003 in Santa Barbara, was called off just hours before it was to commence. Pink Diamond Engagement RingsAffleck had J.Lo's famous engagement ring custom made by Harry Winston and valued around US$2.1 million. The engagement rings 6-carat radiant shaped pink diamond was set on a platinum band with three white diamond baguettes on each side. The modern and feminine look seemed to fit with J.Lo perfectly and was loved by the public, with replica engagement rings becoming highly sought after.
